0010 RESIDENCE – Parijs of Florence?, January 2024 (NL)
Featured in Residence – The Art of Decorating, this publication explores a residential project by BUNKER Studio where classical architecture is reinterpreted through a contemporary design language. Original proportions and architectural details provide the framework for interiors defined by bespoke craftsmanship, natural materials and a carefully curated selection of collectible furniture and artworks.

Every room has been designed as part of a seamless spatial sequence, balancing openness with intimacy. Tailor-made joinery, sculptural lighting, custom furnishings and vintage pieces establish a dialogue between historical character and contemporary living, creating interiors that feel both sophisticated and deeply personal.

Rather than treating decoration as an addition, the interiors are conceived as a continuous composition. Collectible twentieth-century furniture, contemporary artworks and custom-designed pieces establish a layered visual narrative where each object contributes to the identity of the space. The result is an environment that feels collected over time, balancing historical references with contemporary sensibility.

Materiality plays a central role throughout the project. Rich woods, natural stone, handcrafted ceramics and textured surfaces are combined with soft, neutral palettes to enhance light, proportion and atmosphere. Each intervention is conceived to strengthen the architectural identity of the home while offering a refined yet comfortable everyday experience.

This publication reflects BUNKER Studio’s design philosophy: creating interiors that are timeless rather than trend-driven, where architecture, craftsmanship and contemporary art merge into cohesive environments with a distinctive sense of place. Every detail contributes to an understated elegance that celebrates quality, individuality and lasting design.
