0007 LIVING Corriere – Senza tempo, February 2023 (IT)

Published in Living Corriere, this project explores the renovation of a historic apartment in the heart of Florence. Rather than recreating a specific historical period, the design embraces a layered approach, combining architecture, bespoke furniture, collectible design and contemporary artworks into a coherent domestic landscape. The result is an interior conceived to remain relevant beyond trends, where every intervention is guided by proportion, materiality and permanence.   

The restoration preserves the apartment’s original character while introducing a new spatial rhythm through carefully considered architectural details and custom-made elements. Oak herringbone flooring, refined wall panelling, fluted timber cabinetry and tailored joinery establish a calm and precise framework, allowing light, texture and craftsmanship to define the atmosphere. Every architectural gesture is designed to feel both contemporary and deeply rooted in the building’s history.

Throughout the interiors, original twentieth-century furniture is placed in dialogue with commissioned pieces and contemporary artworks, creating an environment that resists stylistic categorisation. Objects from different decades coexist naturally, not as a collection of references but as part of a continuous conversation between past and present. This layered composition reflects BUNKER Studio’s approach to residential design: creating spaces that evolve over time rather than follow a single aesthetic narrative.

The feature captures more than the visual identity of the apartment. Through its photography and editorial narrative, Living Corriere highlights a design philosophy centred on longevity, balance and cultural continuity—an architecture that values restraint over excess and sees the home as a place where space, art and everyday life become inseparable.
